I'm working on an open source writing app
Hey Hacker News, I'm a writer who sometimes misses the fancy features of a code editor, so I started building Chisel. What can Chisel do? - Command palette like VSCode - Git-like history to keep track of your writing journey - Writing feedback ala Hemingway or Grammarly - And it even integrates with ChatGPT I've tried out some other apps like Bear and Obsidian, but Chisel has been a better fit. It's more about writing and less about note-taking. Head over to https://egonschiele.github.io/chisel-docs/ to check it out!
In plain words
Chisel is an open source writing application designed for writers who want tools similar to code editors. It includes a command palette for quick navigation, git-like version history to track writing changes over time, writing feedback similar to Hemingway Editor or Grammarly, and ChatGPT integration. The app focuses on writing tasks rather than general note-taking, distinguishing it from similar tools like Bear and Obsidian.

To use it, simply enable the “Expert” toggle before doing a search. GPT-4 is making a night-and-day difference in terms of answer quality. For a question like “How can I RLHF a LLaMa model”, Phind in Expert mode delivers a…
