I Made an AI Chrome Extension for NoFap and Addiction Recovery Support
*The Need I Discovered:* While talking with friends and community members, I noticed that many people struggle with maintaining their NoFap commitment and recovering from addiction. What it does
In the maker’s words, at launch
*The Need I Discovered:* While talking with friends and community members, I noticed that many people struggle with maintaining their NoFap commitment and recovering from addiction. They often need better tools to help them resist temptation and stay on track. *Understanding the Need:* I realized that people often face distractions, especially online, which can undermine their efforts to stay committed. I believed that a browser extension designed to block harmful content and provide additional support could make a significant difference in their recovery journey. *Development Process:* Based on this need, I spent three days developing a solution. Throughout this time, I encountered several challenges, particularly with effectively identifying and blocking inappropriate content. After overcoming these hurdles, I incorporated additional features to enhance user support. *Product Features:* This Chrome extension not only blocks harmful content but also provides daily reminders and tracks recovery progress. It’s designed to support NoFap goals and offer extra encouragement to users throughout their recovery journey. *Feedback Request:* I invite everyone to try out this extension and provide feedback. Your insights will be invaluable in refining the product and helping others who are working towards overcoming addiction.

- GCGet Creative, a website within a chrome extension2012 · ▲37
I just launched a new project aimed at helping people to do something fun and creative every day by giving them daily challenges. The goal is to promote habitual creativity by reducing the barrier to content creation and reminding users to keep at it. Everyone can see everyone else's creations and give them some encouragement with a like. When designing Get Creative, I wanted something with a mobile sensibility: badged notifications reminding users to return, a very simple interface, even a predefined viewing size. But I didn't want to dive full in to iOS or Android where testing would be…

Hi all, I just made this Chrome extension I would like to hear your feedback on: http://alexisrondeau.com/reup/ The extension will ask you to define a goal while working within Chrome. Once you've set yourself that goal it will be visible on any webpage you visit after that. Some background: I've been noticing how much time I tend to waste online, especially Facebook, HackerNews, and tried many different ways to control the habit. There are extensions and methods out there that should help with this kind of behavior, for example StayFocusd or LeechBlock, but I have found myself not being…
- IBI built an AI visionboards site2025 · visionboardsai.com · ▲8
Hello everyone, I doubt this would be relevant to the kind of person who uses HN, but I thought I could share for some feedback. I built this site because there is a whole world of people who believe in new age spirituality and I am very much one of them. It is a site where you get the users gender their goals and their images and use AI and psychology to generate images of them in the process of achieving their goals. I am so deeply struggling with how to get this highly on Google. I don't even know if that is important anymore. What are your suggestions with distribution and getting in…
- IFI feed all my daily entries to an AI (ChatGPT)2023 · ▲8
Hello there! I hope you're doing well today! I wanted to share something with you. Recently I was on the hunt for the best way to journal daily. Well, I had this idea - what if I could feed all my daily entries to an AI (ChatGPT), and create a friendly, supportive character like Socrates or Simon Sinek? This way, I could ask any questions about my life and mental health, and get some amazing advice on how to improve myself! The results have been absolutely mind-blowing ! I even made a short GIF to show you how it works - check it out! - https://gifyu.com/image/SdHLH I've…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
