I made an embeddable user feedback tool – free for open source

Hi HN, After I finished my thesis on feedback management for SaaS at the end of last year, I thought it was time to do something hands-on that topic. Since I like the idea of such feedback tools, that lets you collaborate with users to find solutions together - instead of having a separated feedback from each user - this became my starting point. I also like the approach of the chat widgets as they make it easy for users to get in touch with the people behind the app. So I tried to combine these two approaches with sleekplan.com. Here are some of the main features: * Collect & discuss…

What it does

In the maker’s words, at launch

Hi HN, After I finished my thesis on feedback management for SaaS at the end of last year, I thought it was time to do something hands-on that topic. Since I like the idea of such feedback tools, that lets you collaborate with users to find solutions together - instead of having a separated feedback from each user - this became my starting point. I also like the approach of the chat widgets as they make it easy for users to get in touch with the people behind the app. So I tried to combine these two approaches with sleekplan.com. Here are some of the main features: * Collect & discuss feedback with an embedded widget * Calculate an impact score for feedback items based on different factors (such as weight, users satisfaction, user engagement), * Categories for different types of feedback (Feature requests, missing integrations, bugs) * Custom statuses * Roadmap * Changelog * Notify „followers“ that are watching specific feedback items on status updates * Keep discussions simple (jump straight into discussions via email) I initially focused on developing the tool itself. The next step is an integration to sync Github issues. I'm sure there's plenty of room for improvement, so what do you think about it? I would really appreciate your feedback, don’t be nice, say anything that sucks. As Bill Gates says: „We all need people who will give us feedback. That’s how we improve“.

A feedback tool done differently (my first SaaS)2020 · ▲7

As a product manager I've used different feedback tools and almost never liked the design and experience of the widget. And pricing of some existing tools is just way too high, at least for indie makers or small businesses ($35 for 100 responses...). That's why I've launched Freddy Feedback (today!). You can find it on www.freddyfeedback.com. Curious to hear your feedback (very meta ;-)).

Hi HN, 8 months ago, I posted “Ask HN: I built it nobody came, what now?” and got a ton of (not very optimistic) feedback [1]. I took away 3 things: 1. The message wasn’t properly targeted 2. The onboarding experience was terrible. 3. Someone posted some advice to find leads which actually worked, yeah! So here we are. 8 months later. I unfortunately didn’t have a lot of time to put in the tool itself. But I improved the website, improved the onboarding, and got a paying customer who seems to really like the software. So here it is in its current form. Let me know what you think would make…

    I made SDK for collecting visual feedback – open-source, self-hostableSep 2025 · roastnest.com · ▲7

Hi All, I’ve been working on an open-source SDK to make collecting user feedback on your website less painful. Instead of wasting time on building your own feedback system and boring forms, my SDK lets users leave feedback directly on your website—with all the context devs actually need. Here’s what it currently does: Users can select any element on the page Auto-captures logs, metadata & screenshots Sends instant notifications (Slack, Discord, etc.) Lets you reward users → boosts engagement & conversions Gives users a tracking link → builds accountability & trust Self-host + customize the…

    I Built an Internal Insight Collection Tool for Teams2024 · getfeedloop.com · ▲7

Hey HN, Managing external feedback boards can be a hassle. Moderating spam and responding to endless comment threads takes time away from building new features or focusing on marketing. I built Feedloop to solve this problem. It’s a tool designed to help you collect and track user/customer feedback internally within your team. No more wasting time on external platforms – streamline your feedback process and keep everything in-house. Check it out: https://www.getfeedloop.com I’d love to hear your thoughts! Victor

Me and my buddy made $20 with a Stripe link and a Tweet2023 · ▲7

Hi there, So a buddy a couple of days ago came up with the idea for a new SaaS product regarding gpt and image generation. We did a quick MVP that barely works, it breaks almost 50% of the time but we still wanted to validate the idea before going all in. We have almost 1k followers on Twitter together. Did a quick post describing the idea with a stripe link in the comments with a 5$ value, no landing page, and no shipped product. In exchange, the buyers become beta users. Around 30 mins later we got our first sale next 30 mins another 5$ and so on. Do we consider the idea validated? The…
