I shipped my first product launched on August 10, 2011 with 163 votes, #6 of 248 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 15 years on.

As you can read in my post The Big Plan , one of the things I find difficult is shipping software. Specifically: my own software. It’s different when you build something for a client or for a boss. I already submitted the next update to the App Store, as I accidentally didn’t check whether the retina icon was working, and I fixed a small bug. I am strongly thinking of open sourcing the app as well (next to having it in the App…from chriseidhof.tumblr.com

Hi, I'm a developer and first time i shipped the real product after observing the startups and indie hackers community for years. I had made so many useless apps [you should check my website https://ansh.life], but this time I built a very useful product that has a number of super easy-to-use tools in one app for video, music, and photo files. Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
