I've Built an Accounting System

It can create invoices and receive payments. Not quite production ready, yet. Only need PostgreSQL installed to try. I will add support to choose SQLite when they add native support for geography types.

In plain words

I've Built an Accounting System is an invoicing and payment application currently in development. It handles invoice creation and payment receipt functionality, requiring only PostgreSQL to run. The maker notes it is not yet production-ready and plans to add SQLite support once that database gains native geography type capabilities. The project is available on GitHub for early testing.

PostgreSQL course with database running in your browserJul 2026 · learnpg.xyz · ▲6

I wanted to brush up my SQL skills and was looking for an online course that included a live DB. Most PostgreSQL courses require you to create an account or pay. This is probably because they have to bear the costs of running a full server-side database. So I created learnpg.xyz, a collection of PostgreSQL SQL exercises that run client side. Sharing here because it might be of use to people!

    MVP done, now what?2016 · ▲5

I've spent about the past 6 months or so working on what I think of as 'database as a service'. Essentially hosted Sqlite with CORS support so users can post from anywhere, and execute queries saved on the backend. One of the things I'm going for is a completely in browser development experience, so there's nothing to install, the user simply uses the UI to create and edit queries and admin their database. One of the most basic uses would be posting form data from a static HTML page: https://www.lite-engine.com/blog/post_form.html I've posted it here before and didn't get…

    I built a database for AI agentsApr 2026 · github.com · ▲12

Hey HN, I just spent the last few weeks building a database for agents. Over the last year I built PostHog AI, the company's business analyst agent, where we experimented on giving raw SQL access to PostHog databases vs. exposing tools/MCPs. Needless to say, SQL wins. I left PostHog 3 weeks ago to work on side-projects. I wanted to experiment more with SQL+agents. I built an MVP exposing business data through DuckDB + annotated schemas, and ran a benchmark with 11 LLMs (from Kimi 2.5 to Claude Opus 4.6) answering business questions with either 1) per-source MCP access (e.g. one Stripe…
