What it does

No more switching tabs or copying and pasting. Just type your request in [square brackets] anywhere on the web, and InBrackets will seamlessly replace it with an answer, suggestion, translation, or rewrite—powered by the latest AI models.

An AI keyboard for iPhone. Set your context, write your message, and improve your text with one tap, right from your keyboard.

Your words. A little help from AI. Polish what you write, right from your keyboard. Set it up your way. Then let a single button do the editing. Here’s the whole flow. Save an instruction, like checking spelling. Your context sets the direction. Write your text and choose the context you want to use from the keyboard. Tap the AI button. InBrackets processes your text with your chosen instruction. With confirmation enabled, review the result. Tap Apply when you’re happy. Your updated words are back in the message. Was getting annoyed copy-pasting stuff from websites into ChatGPT all the time, basically wished Cursor's CMD+K worked everywhere. So I built a little Chrome extension, InPageAI, that tries to do just that: https://inpageai.com Hit a shortcut on any page, it grabs the context automatically, and you can ask AI to summarize, explain, etc. You can also use it to write directly into input fields/text boxes. It's pretty early days, but give it a try? Would love to hear what you think, or if you find places it breaks!

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
