Infrabase
We too at first thought that letting an LLM manage your AWS account must be a bad idea. What could possibly go wrong?? However we couldn’t resist building it, and when we did, we were surprised how much it can do even in plain vanilla form, which currently is just the ai-sdk frontend with some aws sdk code generation (inspared by aws-mcp). We all but stopped using the AWS console internally and switched to Infrabase - a lot of the time it’s much faster to prompt than to click around in AWS console, especially for things that involve multiple steps, IAM roles, etc. So we started to think of…
Infrabase launched on June 17, 2025 with 142 votes, #269 of 7,999 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
Infrabase scans code and organizational context to surface security gaps, cost spikes, and policy breaks before they ever hit your cloud. It allows you to define rules in natural language to manage your cloud account.

InsForgeMar 2026 · insforge.dev · ▲622We built InsForge because we wanted to use pure prompts to build a production-grade app faster. In practice, AI isn’t reliable enough when generating code or configuring backend pieces like schema, RLS, auth, or functions. Postgres MCP and Supabase MCP are a good starting point, but they felt more like API wrappers for agents than something designed to guide AI safely through backend tasks. So we built our own MCP server on top of Postgres and added a set of context-engineering tools to make prompt-driven workflows more predictable. It gradually turned into a Postgres-based BaaS. Key…
Why write code if the LLM can just do the thing? (web app experiment)Nov 2025 · github.com · ▲436I spent a few hours last weekend testing whether AI can replace code by executing directly. Built a contact manager where every HTTP request goes to an LLM with three tools: database (SQLite), webResponse (HTML/JSON/JS), and updateMemory (feedback). No routes, no controllers, no business logic. The AI designs schemas on first request, generates UIs from paths alone, and evolves based on natural language feedback. It works—forms submit, data persists, APIs return JSON—but it's catastrophically slow (30-60s per request), absurdly expensive ($0.05/request), and has zero UI…

I've been working on a platform that uses LLMs to build maintain and manage k8s clusters on any cloud. The system writes infra as code to your Github repos and automatically containerizes and scales any services (public or private). The goal is to give your average engineer a vercel-like deployment experience for any service in any language at minimal cost. We have humans involved at the moment auditing LLM outputs and keeping an eye on clusters. We are looking for folks who may be thinking about their first infra/devops hire. Just connect your github and your cloud provider. The system…

See the carbon impact of your cloud as you codeJan 2026 · dashboard.infracost.io · ▲67Hey folks, I’m Hassan, one of the co-founders of Infracost (https://www.infracost.io). Infracost helps engineers see and reduce the cloud cost of each infrastructure change before they merge their code. The way Infracost works is we gather pricing data from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. What we call a ‘Pricing Service’, which now holds around 9 million live price points (!!). Then we map these prices to infrastructure code. Once the mapping is done, it enables us to show the cost impact of a code change before it is merged, directly in GitHub, GitLab etc.…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
