Janus launched on June 4, 2025 with 268 votes, #109 of 7,999 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.

In plain words

Janus is a simulation testing platform that evaluates AI agents for weaknesses including hallucinations, rule violations, and tool-call failures. It runs thousands of automated simulations against chat and voice agents to identify issues, and provides custom evaluations to help improve model performance. The tool is designed for teams building and deploying AI agents who need systematic testing before production use.

From the sources

Janus battle-tests your AI agents to surface hallucinations, rule violations, and tool-call/performance failures. We run thousands of AI simulations against your chat/voice agents and offer custom evals for further model improvement.

The AI deployment layer for critical industries.

Off-the-shelf AI is probabilistic and doesn't know your policies. High-stakes work leaves no margin for error, and generic models can't clear that bar. We learn your rules from the people who run the process and deploy agents that hit 99%+. Your data is your biggest advantage, but off-the-shelf tools send it outside your walls. We deploy inside your own environment so nothing leaves and your data compounds for you, building more accurate systems over time. The intelligence built is yours to own. A foundation that knows your processes, rules, and the regulations you operate under better than any generic model. It becomes a lasting edge that no one else canfrom withkairos.co

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
