JobScout

At AI week, Gian Segato mentioned that people inside Anthropic keep their own personal eval for Claude: a small, private test they trust more than any leaderboard. That idea stuck with me, so I built mine out of the thing I trust my own taste on most: Charlie Parker solos.

JobScout launched on January 26, 2022 with 30 votes, #938 of 2,891 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 4 years on.

What it does

JobScout scours Facebook's posts and groups to find awesome remote job opportunities. You can filter them by fully remote or hybrid, and type of contract. You can then apply right on Facebook.

At AI week, Gian Segato from Anthropic said something offhand that I have not been able to put down. He mentioned that a lot of people inside Anthropic keep their own personal eval for Claude. Not the big public benchmarks. A small, private test, tuned to something they personally care about, that they trust more than any leaderboard to tell them whether a new model is actually better. That one sentence reorganized how I think about model quality. So I went and built mine. Most of us judge models by feel. A new release drops, you throw a few of your favorite hard prompts at it, you get a vibe, you move on. The problem is that vibes do not scale and vibes drift. You cannot remember how the…from flatnine.co

An AI-powered Job Search System built on Claude Code

I think we all have a similar flow and pain with browsers and AI. Copy article, paste in Claude tab, come back to article, back to Claude, in circles we go. Anthropic has a Chrome extension, but my daily driver is Safari. So I made my own extension. It's not a clone as I've never used the Chrome version. One obvious change: the Chrome version I believe uses Chrome "request sidebar" thing. And Safari doesn't have that, so had to inject the sidebar right in the site html itself. There's been some fun things in here like figuring out the sidebar html/css sandboxing. Also there's an agent…

I've been experimenting with ways to increase AI adoption for non-technical people. Basically, all companies are pushing for AI because it's all over the news and they feel left behind but most people have no clue where to start. I think 90% of people (ie non coders) are sufficiently well served by using cowork instead of claude code or something similar. If we can get people from sales, customer support, marketing, etc to collaborate with skills and cowork to form a company brain, I think it's gold. So I think there's opportunity for the community to share skills that work well for 1000s of…

  • An open source job search plugin for Claude CodeJun 2026 · github.com · ▲5

Hey HN, I wanted to share an open source plugin + skills I put together that turn Claude Code into a job search assistant. The goal is to minimize the amount of time needed to find interesting and relevant jobs. How it works: 1. Clone the repo, install the plugin, and run `/job-search` 2. Claude will ask a few questions to understand the roles you’re interested in and save your preferences locally. 3. Claude will then pull live job postings (currently, LinkedIn Jobs), compare posts against your preferences, and generate a digest of the posts that are relevant. 4. [Optionally] Claude…

  • History: Last year I had to replace the tire on my bike, and I was surprised how difficult it was to find a suitable new tire. There were a lot of numbers written on the casing, so I googled what they meant. In the end I was successful, but I didn't want to do the same work again for the next bike after I've forgotten the details. So I wrote this website. Technically, the web page is kept very simple, no frameworks, no templates, no website builder. It uses HTML5, CSS and JavaScript, and it privides a responsive layout for mobile usage. I'm happy to receive feedback. If you have tried the…
