Koubou
Hey! I saw this post a few days ago on HN [1] about the new Nano Banana model and decided to play with it. It's incredible (Mostly for editing IMHO)! The thing is, Google AI Studio is great for chat... for images, the UI is not ideal. So I decided to make my own thing: an infinite canvas for AI image exploration. :) Right now it only supports Nano Banana, but the plan is to include OpenAI, Replicate, and fal.ai this week! Would love to hear any feedback. Feel free to propose changes as well! Github: https://github.com/za01br/koubou [1]…
Koubou launched on September 16, 2025 with 9 votes, #1,272 of 8,160 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
What it does
This is the v1 for Koubou. The goal is to become a hub where anyone can experiment with AI image models.

Nano Banana 2Feb 2026 · blog.google · ▲416Hi HN — I’m an indie developer. I built Nano Banana 2 Playground, a simple web demo for generating images from text and transforming existing images (image-to-image). My goal was a fast, minimal UI that lets you iterate on prompts quickly and compare results without extra friction. I’d love feedback on: Prompt UX (what feels missing/confusing) Which controls/presets are actually useful How to communicate limitations and expected results clearly Thanks for taking a look — happy to answer questions and improve it based on your suggestions.
LNBP: Love Nano Banana ProDec 2025 · lovenanobananapro.com · ▲6Hi HN, I built a minimal AI image editor on top of Nano Banana Pro. Highlights: - 2K → 4K generation - Better spatial reasoning than most models I’ve tried - Reference-image conditioning (up to 10 images) - Text rendering that doesn’t look like an eldritch summoning ritual Stack: React + Node/TS (antigravity did save me a lot of time!). Use cases: product shots, posters, concept art, “my cat as a medieval knight in 4K”, etc. Feedback on latency/security/pricing is really appreciated. Credits only charge on successful renders. And no, I still don’t know why it’s called Nano…

Banana Prompts – Curated Prompts for Nano Banana ProDec 2025 · bananaprompts.fun · ▲6Hey HN, I've just launched https://bananaprompts.fun/, a collection of carefully crafted prompts designed specifically for Nano Banana Pro, the AI model that excels at advanced image generation. Whether you're into photorealistic seascapes, cyberpunk portraits, or isometric claymation cityscapes, these prompts are optimized to help you create stunning visuals with minimal tweaking. It's built for AI creators, artists, and devs who want reliable starting points to experiment with Nano Banana Pro. I'd love your feedback on the prompts, UI, or ideas for expansion—maybe more…

NanoLabNov 2025 · monkeyai.cc · ▲8Hi HN I built MonkeyAI — a site that curates creative templates and examples for AI image generation, designed to help artists and designers find inspiration faster. When experimenting with different image models, I noticed that generating great visuals often depends on how the prompt is structured — the tone, subject, and composition details matter a lot. But most prompt libraries are either overwhelming or lack creative direction. MonkeyAI focuses on quality and clarity. Each template comes with: A visual preview of the result The exact prompt structure Context tags for mood, style, or…

The site hit #1 on HN about a year ago. Got enough traffic that I turned it into a proper API. What's there: - REST API — 35k products, manually filterable by category, free key, 60 req/min - CLI — npx anycrap random -c food - faker.js plugin — bundled, no API call, works offline - HuggingFace dataset — full 35k rows for ML/training https://anycrap.shop/developers

I made a built-from scratch Wayland Compositor to display any GUI app* in the terminal! I think there is a lot of unexplored potential in custom Wayland compositors, a lot of really cool things you can embed existing applications into! So, I started with embedding apps into the terminal because that is the easiest input/output (output is just utf-8 and I use the great `chafa` library for that, and I just read from stdin for the input). If you have any other ideas for cool Wayland compositors, let me know. I purposedly wrote 80% the app in Typescript to appeal to the most developers and…

Years ago I stumbled across a basic version of this concept and it stuck with me. I knew if I was ever going to take on such a project, it would need to be flawless, but without coding experience it was just another idea that would never happen. By the end of 2024, as AI coding tools exploded everywhere, I finally had a way to make it real. I started from zero knowledge and spent months collaborating with AI agents as a learning experience. Every pixel and every function went through me. The AI translated what I asked for into code, but every decision was human. I didn't use existing OS…
