In plain words
Kretes is a framework for building full-stack applications using TypeScript and PostgreSQL. It enables developers to write both frontend and backend code in TypeScript, with PostgreSQL as the database layer. The framework is designed to streamline the development process by unifying the technology stack across the entire application, reducing the need to switch between different programming languages and tools.

Kretes is a programming environment for rapid development of TypeScript applications. It combines a web framework with an editor into an integrated, battery-included solution. Kretes is built on top of Snowpack , a modern build tool for faster web development. In development, client-side assets are compiled on-demand when requested. Hot Reload is instant and independent of the project size (so called O(1) bundling). Kretes uses the Nix package manager for dependency management. Your project setup can be easily transferred between different machines, whether sharing it with coworkers , or when switching from development to production environment . Kretes uses only one programming language :…from kretes.dev

Pg-typesafe – Strongly typed queries for PostgreSQL and TypeScriptFeb 2026 · github.com · ▲69Throughout my career, I tried many tools to query PostgreSQL, and in the end, concluded that for what I do, the simplest is almost always the best: raw SQL queries. Until now, I typed the results manually and relied on tests to catch problems. While this is OK in e.g., GoLang, it is quite annoying in TypeScript. First, because of the more powerful type system (it's easier to guess that updated_at is a date than it is to guess whether it's nullable or not), second, because of idiosyncrasies (INT4s are deserialised as JS numbers, but INT8s are deserialised as strings). So I wrote pg-typesafe,…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
