Latch

The app blocker you unlock by walking to your key

Latch launched on October 17, 2026 with 80 votes, #237 of 3,080 launches that month and more than 95% of that year's launches.

What it does

Latch is an app blocker for iPhone and Android that only unlocks when you scan your key: a few-cent NFC sticker, a printed QR code or 500+ steps. Free to start, $9.99 once for Pro.

Latch locks the apps that eat your day. To open them again, you scan your key, and the key lives somewhere you have to walk to: a sticker on the fridge, a card in the car. Or skip the sticker and make the key a walk: a number of steps you have to take first. Either way, the few minutes it takes are usually enough to change your mind. Latch shows which apps took the most of your week. Pick those, or whole categories and websites, and save them as a profile. You might keep one for work and one for bed. Stick the NFC sticker or tape the printed QR code somewhere you'd have to get up for, like the fridge. Slide the latch and your apps are blocked. Day to day, the only way back in is to scan…from latch.luklalogic.ai
