Learn Basic Chess Movements
I made this basic website for my daughter (6) to learn how to move chess pieces. I wanted a simple game which didn't have all the rules, just how to get from A to B with a piece. Admittedly, as soon as I made this a friend pointed out https://lichess.org/learn which is really nice! There are a bunch of settings you can tweak to set the difficulty etc. Anyway, maybe will be a fun (short) diversion.

In plain words
Learn Basic Chess Movements is a simple website designed to teach young children how chess pieces move across the board without enforcing full game rules. Created for a six-year-old learner, it focuses on basic movement mechanics from one square to another. The site includes adjustable difficulty settings to match a child's learning pace, making it an accessible introduction to chess piece movement for beginners.

LearnChessJul 2026 · learnchess.ai · ▲29I've been playing chess for a few years with my ELO stuck around 1600 on Lichess. I wanted an app that combined puzzle training, interactive lessons, game analysis, and AI coaching in one place. But all the apps I used over the years either felt overwhelming, had UX that wasn't up to my expectations for a modern app or were lacking some fundamental features that I really wanted. So, I built LearnChess.ai. The technical angle I'm most excited about: it's built local-first using LiveStore (event-sourced, SQLite on-device), which means zero loading delays for user data and full offline support.…

I went down the rabbit hole on a side project and ended up building this: Strange Attractors(https://blog.shashanktomar.com/posts/strange-attractors). It’s built with three.js. Working on it reminded me of the little "maths for fun" exercises I used to do while learning programming in early days. Just trying things out, getting fascinated and geeky, and being surprised by the results. I spent way too much time on this, but it was extreme fun. My favorite part: someone pointed me to the Simone Attractor on Threads. It is a 2D attractor and I asked GPT to extrapolate it to…

Autism Simulator▲779Hey all, I built this. It’s not trying to capture every autistic experience (that’d be impossible). It’s based on my own lived experience as well as that of friends on the spectrum. I'm trying to give people a feel for what masking, decision fatigue, and burnout can look like day-to-day. That’s hard to explain in words, but easier to show through choices and stats. I'm not trying to "define autism". I’ve gotten good feedback here about resilience, meds, and difficulty tuning. I’ll keep tweaking it. If even a few people walk away thinking, "ah, maybe that’s why my coworker struggles in those…
