LEDGER//80

Know when your side projects break even. Free forever.

What it does

LEDGER//80 is a free break-even terminal for people running more than one web project. Give each project its own ledger, log expenses and revenue, and let recurring rules generate hosting and subscription costs automatically. It calculates burn rate, trailing revenue and net position, then tells you the month each project crosses into profit — or how much more revenue you need to stop the gap growing. Invite co-founders, split ownership by percentage, in USD or RUB. Free forever, no paid tier.

Hey everyone! I'm Rob and I want to share what I've built - a solid ledger behind simple API: https://decimals.app The ledger is a key piece of any financial system and is easy to get the design wrong, resulting in troubles for making sure money movements are adding up. I took a lot of inspiration from good designs from Square, Uber, and others for the scalability and security aspects. And on the usability side, I applied many concepts from the Ledger CLI, making it very easy to use. I'm really happy I get to show this to you all, thank you for reading about it! Please let me know…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
