LexiCam AI

Learn words from books without typing — just scan & tap

What it does

I was reading and kept hitting words I didn’t know. Every time: stop, open browser, type, search. It broke my flow. So I built LexiCam. Scan any word, get its definition instantly. No typing. No switching apps. Save words to your list — vocabulary you discover actually sticks. Then I thought: imagine this when reading in a foreign language. That’s why LexiCam supports English, Spanish & French. For readers who want to keep reading. For learners who want to keep learning.

Hi Hacker News, I'm excited to share a project I've been working on: a web-based word learning app designed to help you effortlessly expand your vocabulary. This is a straightforward web application that leverages browser notifications to remind you of new words throughout the day. You upload a CSV file with your vocabulary list, and the app takes care of the rest. The notifications will pop up at intervals, displaying words and their translations to keep you engaged and learning. The CSV can…

Hey HN, Henry here from Cactus. We open-sourced Needle, a 26M parameter function-calling (tool use) model. It runs at 6000 tok/s prefill and 1200 tok/s decode on consumer devices. We were always frustrated by the little effort made towards building agentic models that run on budget phones, so we conducted investigations that led to an observation: agentic experiences are built upon tool calling, and massive models are overkill for it. Tool calling is fundamentally retrieval-and-assembly (match query to tool name, extract argument values, emit JSON), not reasoning. Cross-attention…
