SoloUno
Take control of hair pulling, nail biting & skin picking
What it does
SoloUno helps people take control over body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs) such as hair pulling (trichotillomania), skin picking (dermatillomania), and nail biting. Inspired by Habit Reversal Training, CBT, and ACT, it works as a gamified self-help tool. You progress by achieving small daily wins: habit-free challenges and streaks, quick habit logging, trigger analysis, and urge-acceptance sessions. No shame - just steady progress.
Take control of hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, and other Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors with SoloUno’s practical self-help app.
Thanks to everyone who supported SoloUno and helped us reach the Product Hunt podium. 💜 "Every time the urge comes, I open an urge session - and usually in less than 10 seconds it passes ." " After about two very successful months, from the moment I downloaded the app I stopped the habit completely. I'm getting better every day" " After the first week using the app, I started seeing a change in my face . The redness decreased significantly, and my motivation rose a lot" "For the past 14 years I’ve worn artificial nails, but it didn’t really help. I’d bite the polish, break the acrylic, and the habit never stopped. T hen I found the SoloUno app ." "In the past, every attempt to quit ended…from solouno.io

Hello. I was looking for a simple and clean habit tracker. I went through a few apps but felt they were missing something. I also had some time on my hands, so decided to make my own and share it in case anyone else likes it. Some of the supported features: Streaks based, track and beat your longest streaks Fully useable offline Freezes (similar to Duolingo's streak freezes) Visual map for tracking consistency Pause the app when you need a break or will be away For anyone curious about the tech stack: - React for frontend - Dexie cloud for storage and syncing - Vercel for hosting Link:…

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
