What it does
Great audibooks, completely free to download or stream. LibriVox has simple yet powerful objective - To make all books in the public domain available, for free, in audio format on the internet.
LibriVox audiobooks are read by volunteers from all over the world. Perhaps you would like to join us? LibriVox audiobooks are free for anyone to listen to, on their computers, iPods or other mobile device, or to burn onto a CD. Thanks to many, many volunteers, the LibriVox catalog has grown to include more than 21,000 completed projects. Our only official outlet is the LibriVox.org web site, but because all LibriVox recordings are in the Public Domain, third parties – app developers, archivists, streaming channels and curators – are more than welcome to share and re-share […] Listen to LibriVox Community Podcast #162 – Careers and LibriVox. Searchable library of free audiobooks2025 · booksearch.party · ▲163I noticed that many websites offering free audiobooks tend to have clunky search functionality, making it harder to find what you're looking for. To address this, I’ve created a site that aggregates audiobooks from multiple platforms—complete with book reviews and ratings—making it easier to discover and explore new titles. At the moment, I've included audiobooks from popular sources like Librivox, Project Gutenberg, and Lit2Go. I'm open to suggestions on additional free audiobook sources I could integrate into the site to expand the collection!

Offline audiobook from any format with one CLI command2024 · github.com · ▲105QuickPiperAudiobook locally generates an mp3 audiobook on Linux with one easy command. It can convert PDFs, epub, mobi, and many more by using ebook-convert. It uses any piper TTS model, and thus supports a wide variety of languages. I've had great success using it to read more while reducing eye strain and computer usage. I think I've probably read 30 or so books this way now over the past year. Being able to listen to any content you want in audio form free and offline while going for a walk is extremely handy. I hope it helps you as well! Cheers

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
