What it does
Lium is a marketplace for renting NVIDIA GPUs by the hour. Providers list their machines and compete on price, so the rate comes from the market, not one vendor's price sheet. Rent a single GPU or a whole 8-GPU node and be running in about a minute, with SSH and Jupyter. Billing is per second. Floors today: RTX 3090 $0.16/hr, 4090 $0.27, 5090 $0.49, H200 $4.23. There is a CLI, a Python SDK, and a free public API with live prices. New accounts get $5 of credit, no contract.

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy.
