What it does

Hey Product Hunt! I built Loan Master Pro because so many loan calculators are either bloated or just plain hard to use. I’d love your feedback on the UX or any features you’d want to see. Thanks for checking it out!

I Got Tired of Calculator Sites, So I Built My Own2025 · ▲58

I’ve always found that online calculators tend to have bad UIs, especially on mobile. Most of the calculator websites I’ve come across use outdated and inconvenient ways of inputting data, or they format the results in confusing ways. I’ve noticed that fraction calculators (especially mixed fractions) are terrible to use, even on desktop. I haven’t built one of those yet, but it’s something I’m planning to tackle soon. This is a project I’ve always wanted to work on, but I’m relatively new to this space. So far, I’ve created a collection of simple calculators focused on math and finance. I’d…

I built a mortgage payment calculator for people who just want clean, fast numbers without the lead-gen friction. https://toolvault.co/tools/mortgage-payment-calculator It started because every time I tried to run mortgage scenarios, I hit one of these problems: Forms that demand email/phone before showing results Slow, ad-heavy pages that feel like landing funnels, not tools Calculators that only show principal + interest, ignoring real monthly costs What this tool does: Calculates full monthly housing cost: principal, interest, property tax, insurance, PMI, and HOA…

    I made a calculator builder to increase engagement and conversions2024 · creativewidgets.io · ▲9

Hi HN, I am a solopreneur in the evenings and a software engineer during the day. In the past, I have created lots of calculators for my web projects and freelancing friends. These were pretty basic, but users always welcomed them. I also used currently available builders, but the problem was that they were either slow, broke on mobile devices, had nonsense page view limits, or were expensive. Some even ticked all those boxes. So I have decided to create my own, with a simple interface, and called it Creative Widgets (if it ever takes off, I plan to add more exciting stuff like charts, etc,…

Hey HN! Pilots everywhere are required to keep a logbook of all their flying hours, aircraft, airports, and so on. Since I track everything digitally (some people still just use paper logbooks!), I put together some data visualizations and a few 3D globes to show my flying history. This globe is probably my favourite so far: https://jameshard.ing/pilot/globes/all If you’ve got ideas for other graphs or ways to show this kind of data, I’d love to hear them!

  • I was the main contributor to workout.lol, an open-source fitness app to easily build a workout routine. The project had traction (1.4k GitHub stars, 95 forks, ~20K visits/month), but was eventually sold due to video licensing hurdles. The new owner stopped maintaining it, and the repo went abandoned. Over the next 9 months, I sent 15 emails to try to save it : no replies. Feature requests & issues were ignored. The community was left with a "broken" tool let's say. I couldn't just let it die So I built the new version from scratch with the same open-source spirit, but a better…
