Local Document Parsing for Agents
The core processing engine behind LlamaParse is now open source. LiteParse runs entirely locally, has zero Python dependencies, and is built around how agents actually iterate on documents: parse text fast, fall back to screenshots when you need visual reasoning.

In plain words
Local Document Parsing for Agents is a tool that enables AI agents to process and understand documents stored locally. Built on the LlamaIndex framework, it allows developers to integrate document parsing capabilities directly into agent workflows without relying on external services. This is useful for teams working with sensitive documents or those requiring offline functionality.

Every AI agent needs to read documents. However, most popular document parsing tools are either fast but inaccurate (e.g. pypdf) or VLM-dependent, which is higher accuracy but slower, cloud hosted, or requires local GPU compute. Agents end up waiting (and sometimes timing out) for parsing when what they really need is some rough output to guide their reasoning and continue iterating. We've spent years building LlamaParse into the most accurate document parser for production AI systems. Along the way, we learned a lot about what fast, lightweight document parsing actually looks like under the hood, and today we're open-sourcing that core as LiteParse . LiteParse is a CLI and TS-native…from llamaindex.ai

LiteParse v2, now in Rust 100x fasterMay 2026 · github.com · ▲15LiteParse is an open-source (Apache 2.0) document parser that provides high-quality spatial text parsing with bounding boxes. It does not depend on local or frontier VLMs. Because it does not require GPUs, liteparse can be run on any machine, and process a few hundred pages of documents in seconds. It offers higher accuracy than similar tools like PyPDF, PyMuPDF, MarkItDown. It supports a variety of file formats - PDFs, Office documents, images. It can be one-line installed as a skill for 40+ different AI agents, including Claude Code, Cursor, OpenClaw, Windsurf, and more.
Notte Browser Agents2025 · notte.cc · ▲275Hey HN, We’ve been building browser agents for a while. In production, we kept converging on the same pattern: deterministic scripts for the happy path, agents only for edge cases. So we built Demonstrate Mode. The idea is simple: You perform your workflow once in a remote browser. Notte records the interactions and generates deterministic automation code. How it works: - Record clicks, inputs, navigations in a cloud browser - Compile them into deterministic code (no LLM at runtime) - Run and deploy on managed browser infrastructure Closest analog is Playwright codegen but: - Infrastructure…

Talanoa▲340Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
