What it does
If you’ve ever run out of Mac storage without knowing why — you’re not alone. MacMan scans your system like a developer would: it finds hidden caches, node_modules, simulators, and project leftovers eating gigabytes of space. With one click, you can clean everything safely — no digging through folders or guessing what’s safe to delete. ⚙️ Cleans npm, pip, brew caches 📁 Detects heavy, unused project folders 🧠 Smart recommendations on what’s safe to remove Breathe new life into your Mac.

Mac Cleanup GoJan 2026 · github.com · ▲100Instead of a traditional command-style CLI, it runs as a TUI in the terminal, allowing users to inspect cleanup targets before proceeding. On my macOS machines, caches and app data often take up more than 40% of disk usage. Manually cleaning them each time felt tedious, so I built this tool to make the process easier. While similar tools exist, I found it hard to quickly understand how items were categorized or how important each cleanup target was, so I built my own. Repository: https://github.com/2ykwang/mac-cleanup-go Feedback is welcome.

FreeUpMyMacJan 2026 · freeupmymac.com · ▲110Hey HN Ex YC/Google engineer turned indie maker here - excited to share something I just shipped. The System Data in my Mac was taking up 300GB and it took me months to figure out how to clear the old cache, logs, junk and more. And CleanMyMac is a subscription - I refuse to pay subscription fees for Mac apps that run locally. So I built FreeUpMyMac an offline, lifetime Mac cleaner that clear junk with 1 click. And helps you visualize your storage with TreeMap/Sunburst. Hope it’s helpful to you as it is for me. Would love your feedback Tunde

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
