So for the past 3 years, we built “user assistance” tools for desktop and web apps only. (Stuff like an embedded Copilot trained on your product, cmd+k search, nudges, etc.) It took a lot of self-convincing but we’ve decided to finally launch all of this for mobile today too. In hindsight, we actually regret not doing it sooner. The more we dug into customer feedback, the more we realized how much more pronounced the problems we're solving on desktop are on mweb and native apps. Screen real estate is much more reduced, user patience is lower, and the status quo for helping users on mobile is generally bad — lots of interrupting, untimely pop-ups. Plus the dreaded in-app browser. Today we're launching CommandBar for mobile, which lets you embed CommandBar's most popular in-product experiences into your mobile web, React Native, iOS, and Android apps: - Copilot: an AI-powered assistant for users to take actions without having to look through all the possible mobile screens you have in your app. Works with voice commands, too. - HelpHub: make it easy for users to find training content, tutorials, etc. No in-app browser in sight. - Nudges: announce stuff to users in non-annoying ways, using advanced targeting (like asking for a 5-star review after a magic moment, not 3 seconds after they've opened the app for the first time). We've built SDKs to get this added to your mobile app. After that, anyone on your team can create and ship experiences using the no-code editor. You also don't need to go through the App Store review cycle to get these up and running. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it.
