What it does

Greenland is currently dominating headlines due to a major geopolitical crisis. President Trump has renewed calls for the United States to acquire Greenland, recently framing the takeover as a “national security priority.” The White House has even stated that using military force is “always an option,” causing a severe rift with Denmark and sparking warnings that such a move could end the NATO alliance . The Mercator projection, a map projection of the earth onto a cylinder, is known to greatly distort areas near the poles. This means Greenland takes as much area on the map as Africa , when in fact Africa’s area is approximately 14 times greater thanfrom mapfight.xyz
