What it does

MapTiler Cloud is an alternative to Google Maps Platform which offers beautiful basemaps, easy-to-use map design tool, map labels in more than 50 languages, satellite map, search tool, hosting for own geodata, integration with a mobile app and source code generator for developers.

Maps API for developers. Free detailed maps of the entire world for your applications. Geodata hosting for your websites and products.

Switch language, change colors, and select fonts to match your brand. Publish your spatial data with no manual steps or setup required. Just drag and drop raster or vector files, or upload them via API. Formats such as GeoTIFF, GeoJSON, and Shapefile are processed automatically and are ready to go live in a matter of moments. Add directly to your map and use it on your web or mobile app via API. API for the transformation of place names and addresses to geographical coordinates and vice versa. Find any place on Earth (states, cities, streets down to the address level etc.) or get a place name for your coordinates. Hi HN, After 9 years of running my own OpenStreetMap tile server infra for MapHub (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11389989), I've open-sourced it and launched OpenFreeMap. You can either self-host or use our public instance. Everything is open-source, including the full production setup — there’s no 'open-core' model here. Check out the repo (https://github.com/hyperknot/openfreemap). The map data comes from OpenStreetMap. I also provide weekly full planet downloads both in Btrfs and MBTiles formats. I aim to cover the running costs of the public…

    Self-Hosted Maps Stack2022 · maps.ellenhp.me · ▲213

Over the past week I built a project to let people self-host an entire maps stack so they don't have to send data to the big G. Right now it includes a base map, geocoder and directions server. Currently only bicycle directions are supported, and I'm only hosting tiles for Seattle because I'm unemployed and can't afford to host data for the whole planet. Check it out! https://maps.ellenhp.me/ https://github.com/ellenhp/headway Ultimately I'd like to really focus on transit routing (not implemented) but I'll probably throw a driving mode in there too.
