Maskbreak
Free fraud detection API. 1,000 requests an hour, no card.
What it does
Catch antidetect browsers (Kameleo, GoLogin, Multilogin), VPNs, residential proxies and AI bots that most fraud APIs miss. Free tier, under 40 ms.
Know if a visitor hides behind a VPN, proxy, Tor or cloud server — service named when known — and if the browser is a bot or a fake. Under 150 ms, free tier.
Your website sends Maskbreak each visitor, and one call answers whether they are hiding behind a VPN, proxy, Tor or cloud server — naming the service when known (Proton VPN, Bright Data) — and whether the browser itself is a bot or a fake. Your site gets one word back: allow, review or block. Under 150 ms, no CAPTCHAs. - IAIPDetective – An API for IP bot detection2022 · ipdetective.io · ▲68
IPDetective collects data from about 60+ different sources such as official cloud provider endpoints and public VPN/Proxy/Tor/Bot net lists. Then aggregates this data into a fast and easy to use API that can be integrated into applications or scripts easily. IPDetective started as a hobby project for my other hobby projects :) and I decided to wrap a simple website around and offer it as a service. Let me know what your thoughts, if you find value in this service or if you have any feature requests.

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
