What it does
I built MateCommit because I hate the "paperwork" part of coding. After a long session, the last thing I want to do is spend 10 minutes drafting a PR description or a changelog. This CLI handles that boring stuff using Go (for speed) and LLMs. It generates Conventional Commits, drafts your PRs based on your team's templates, and automates releases. It even has real-time cost tracking so you don't burn money on APIs by mistake. 🧉

I've found it helps PR reviewers when they can look through a set of commits with clear messages and logically organized changes. Typically reviewers prefer a larger quantity of smaller changes versus a smaller quantity of larger changes. Too often I find myself being lazy with commit messages. But I don't want AI to write them for me... only i truly know why i wrote the code i did. So why don't i get AI to help me get that into words from my head? I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it.
