Hi hn, I am nearly at the end of medical school so it is time I publish and "advertise" my open source scripts/apps for anki! Here's the pitch: Anki AI Utils is a suite of AI-powered tools designed to automatically improve cards you find challenging. Whether you're studying medicine, languages, or any complex subject, these tools can: - Explain difficult concepts with clear, ChatGPT-generated explanations. - Illustrate key ideas using Dall-E or Stable Diffusion-generated images. - Create mnemonics tailored to your memory style, including support for the Major System. - Reformulate…

Here is a tool I built initially for myself to help with my German and Greek language studies. It started as a hack for creating Anki cards from native language audio. It extracts the words, finds their base forms (lemmas) and groups the examples by the lemma. At some point I realised that I have a transcription with word level timestamps that opens a lot of other opportunities. When you study the individual card, your thought process is very random and not cohesive. I wanted to be able to still reference to my notes for big concepts and then use the cards to memorize the details but also for long term retention. Ankify came out of that. At the time, I…

With social media and now AI, its important to keep the indie web alive. There are many people who write frequently. Blogosphere tries to highlight them by fetching the recent posts from personal blogs across many categories. There are two versions: Minimal (HN-inspired, fast, static): https://text.blogosphere.app/ Non-minimal: https://blogosphere.app/ If you don't find your blog (or your favorite ones), please add them. I will review and approve it.
