What it does
The Monaspace type system is a monospaced type superfamily with some modern tricks up its sleeve. It consists of five variable axis typefaces. Each one has a distinct voice.
Since the earliest days of the teletype machine, code has been set in monospaced type — letters, on a grid. Monaspace is a new type system that advances the state of the art for the display of code on screen. Every advancement in the technology of computing has been accompanied by advancements to the display and editing of code. CRTs made screen editors possible. The advent of graphical user interfaces gave rise to integrated development environments. Even today, we still have limited options when we want to layer additional meaning on top of code. Syntax highlighting was invented in 1982 to help children to code in BASIC. But beyond colors, most editors must communicate with developers…from monaspace.githubnext.com

MonoLisa2020 · monolisa.dev · ▲197Originally we (Andrey, Marcus, Juho) built MonoLisa in 2020 as we realised there's room for a better monospaced typeface for developers. The key insight was to make the glyphs slightly wider to make more room for design to make letters like m feel less cramped. Since then we've released a variable v2 (2022) and now we're happy to expand the typeface with a new family called MonoLisa Text. The reasoning was to cover *other* use cases beyond coding with this proportional font. We hope you give Monolisa a go as there's a free trial to try. We also welcome feedback!

Xenia – A monospaced font built with a custom Python engineJan 2026 · github.com · ▲74I'm an engineer who spent the last year fixing everything I hated about monofonts (especially that double-story 'a'). I built a custom Python-based procedural engine to generate the weights because I wanted more logical control over the geometry. It currently has 700+ glyphs and deep math support. Regular weight is free for the community. I'm releasing more weights based on interest.

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

SpeedVitals▲829Hi HN, I’m Kashish, one of the co-founders of SpeedVitals, a platform for testing & monitoring website performance with a major emphasis on Core Web Vitals. Until now, our platform has only focused on Synthetic/Lab testing, such as Lighthouse tests and TTFB tests. But now, we have developed a Real-User Monitoring platform that doubles up as a Web Analytics tool. One major feature we have that most RUM tools lack is Performance Audits. Just like Lighthouse audits work on Lab test data, our audits work across all the real-user visits and gives suggestions on what task to prioritize first.…
