hi! I’m a 17 y/o dev and I made this so I could show my wpm in code rather than just normal text :) this was my first project that I made awhile back but wanted to share it today. Monkeytype, but for programmers (coding wpm test) launched on April 1, 2024 with 5 votes, #1,789 of 4,347 launches that month and more than 50% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 2 years on.
What it does
HackerType is a typing practice tool to test your programming language typing speed. Contains over 500+ coding problems from LeetCode for you to get faster in the coding language of your choice including Java, Python, and C++. After completing a coding speed test, you can compare your typing speed to other programmers on the real-time leaderboard--become the fastest hackertyper!
