My first API, with SMS-based 3rd party auth method
I've been experimenting with building an API for Spotversation over the last few weeks. I couldn't get OAuth to work correctly (yet) and I don't like the process anyway, so I made my own SMS-based 3rd party authentication method. API Docs: http://spotversation.com/api/docs (clickable link at bottom of page) Example Event: http://spotversation.com/shdh Login: 6502068481 / fake I'm really curious how it gets the basic concepts across for other developers. Thanks for any feedback!

Hey HN! I made a service to share passwords easy and secure but never promoted it. It's called instapass.io I noticed that people besides my friends and clients actually started to use, so maybe it will be helpful for you too! You share one-time self-destruct message using one time links and I won't even be able to see what you wrote. How does it work? When you generate a message the client-side makes a random password and use that to encrypt the message. The password is appended as an anchor tag which all modern browsers never send to the server. This way, I don't even know what you shared.…

hi all, I've always wanted to make my own game, but couldn't afford a thousand-dollar adobe (flash+photoshop) license. I'm not a talented programmer, have no degree in CS. But I understand some elements of design. So I got me a copy of ImpactJS, and after about 5 months of steep learning curve (at least for me), I managed to come up with a game. I also integrated it with a highscore and badge system, similar to what you get at Kongregate. You need to login with Google/OpenID to earn badges/scores. link is: http://www.hotbazooka.com/privatejoe hope to hear some feedback/questions from you guys!

I remember seeing the Dragon Labs Dragonfish Glowing Form Demo[1] when it first came out, and it always stuck in my head. They implement the effect by using a rather large background image and a mask image and move the background image around via Javascript. I was inspired and wanted to see how close I could get with CSS3. I recommend using a Webkit browser [and you can see an alternate version of the animation on Firefox 4].
