My first Windows 8 app, GabberWocky (a gtalk client)

I've been working on this for a few months since I got my Surface RT, and realized there wasn't a solid gtalk/gchat app. It's a C#/XAML app, and I ended up writing my own XMPP stack on-top of raw sockets since there wasn't a good open source one available (that would run in RT). I'll open source my XMPP library on GitHub shortly once I've cleaned it up a bit. Check it out! Greetings! YakGPT is a simple, frontend-only, ChatGPT UI you can use to either chat normally, or, more excitingly, use your mic + OpenAI's Whisper API to chat hands-free. Some features: * A few fun characters pre-installed * No tracking or analytics, OpenAI is the only thing it calls out to * Optimized for mobile use via hands-free mode and cross-platform compressed audio recording * Your API key and chat history are stored in browser local storage only * Open-source, you can either use the deployed version at Vercel, or run it locally Planned features: * Integrate Eleven Labs & other TTS…

I always loved seeing my Spotify Wrapped every year and wondered why doesn’t ChatGPT have something similar? So I built GPTRecap: paste your exported file and instantly see your top topics, total messages, and more. All core features run 100% in your browser, no account, no data stored. Premium insights (like deeper topic analysis) are processed via OpenAI, but nothing is saved on our servers. Would love feedback! What stats would you want to see next?

    We made glhf.chat – run almost any open-source LLM, including 405B2024 · glhf.chat · ▲161

Try it out! https://glhf.chat/ Hey HN! We’ve been working for the past few months on a website to let you easily run (almost) any open-source LLM on autoscaling GPU clusters. It’s free for now while we figure out how to price it, but we expect to be cheaper than most GPU offerings since we can run the models multi-tenant. Unlike Together AI, Fireworks, etc, we’ll run any model that the open-source vLLM project supports: we don’t have a hardcoded list. If you want a specific model or finetune, you don’t have to ask us for it: you can just paste the Hugging Face link in and…

  • My first serious project, a Twitter client for Windows Phone2012 · github.com · ▲12

I've been working the last months on a Twitter app for Windows Phone called Ocell. It all started as a test project to explore development in that platform, but I started to give it more time and released it to the Marketplace. It's my first serious project and I would like to know what does HN think about it. It's also opensourced, so you can also take a look at the code on GitHub (https://github.com/gjulianm/Ocell). It would be really great to have your feedback on this :) Thanks a lot! Windows Phone Store link: http://www.windowsphone.com/s?appid=2ca75e0f-69a4-42e9-b788-dedc31afb82a

Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
