My Gadgets

100+ free tools that keep your files on your device

What it does

A collection of free PDF, image, video, audio, developer and everyday tools that run directly in your browser. No uploads, no sign-up, and your files stay on your device.

A collection of free, privacy-focused online tools that run entirely in your browser. PDF tools, image tools, text tools, developer tools, and more.

115 utilities for PDFs, images, video, audio, text and code. Nothing you open ever leaves this device. My Gadgets is a collection of 115 free utilities across 10 categories, and all of them share one design decision: the work happens inside your browser. When you open a file here, it is read from your disk into browser memory, processed by JavaScript and WebAssembly running on your own processor, and written straight back out as a download. There is no upload endpoint on this site and no server that could receive your documents, which is why we can say your files stay private rather than merely promising to delete them later. That architecture is not a marketing position; it changes what…from mygadgets.ink

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
