My temporary email app I built in react-native in two weeks on the bus
Hi HN. I am not new to programming but very new to react-native. I thought I would share my first react-native application ever with HN for your comments. I have a day job as an enterprise developer and every day for 2 weeks I worked on my 60 minute bus ride in to work on this application from the front end to the back end. The biggest challenge was my relative inexperience with mobile development and my lack of design / ux creativity. The Android Play store submission was really easy however the Apple App Store submission took about 3 versions before it was accepted. Link to app on…

In plain words
My Temporary Email App is a mobile application built with React Native that provides temporary email functionality. It allows users to create disposable email addresses on both iOS and Android platforms. The app was developed by an enterprise developer over two weeks during commute time, representing their first React Native project. It demonstrates full-stack mobile development from frontend to backend implementation.

I've been a React Native developer since 2018, and I've built a whole lot of products with it. I know how hard it is for newcomers (and pros) to build an app, get it approved and actually attract users. It's so easy to get bogged down in confusing documentation and 3rd party dependency fluff. The good news for you: I've read every different push notification service/auth provider/etc's documentation and made informed choices, so you don't have to! I've made HyperFast (https://hyperfa.st), a service which includes: - A boilerplate to get you up and running (hyper) fast -…

Talanoa▲346Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…
