Hey HN! Today, I'm thrilled to introduce "Nancefi", a SaaS app designed specifically for those who need a deeper insight into SEC reports. If you've ever found yourself sifting through pages of financial data, you know how daunting and time-consuming it can be. With Nancefi, we bring a solution to this problem. *Key Features:* * Data Extraction: Our advanced algorithms scan through SEC reports, pulling the most relevant data points for analysis. * Sankey Diagram Visualization: Visualize the extracted data in a comprehensive manner using Sankey diagrams. This makes understanding the flow of information and resource allocation easier than ever before. * API Consumption: For developers and businesses looking to integrate this data into their systems, we provide a robust API to fetch and utilize the extracted information. Tech Stack: We've built Nancefi using some of the most modern and powerful tools: - Frontend: Next.js with TailwindCSS for a sleek and responsive design. - Backend: PostgreSQL for reliable data storage, tRPC for efficient remote procedure calls, and Prisma for easy database interaction. * Why Nancefi?: The world of financial data is vast and often hard to navigate. With Nancefi, we aim to make this journey smoother for analysts, businesses, and anyone interested in understanding SEC reports in depth. Give it a Try!: We would love for you to try out Nancefi and share your feedback. Looking forward to your feedback and suggestions!

- IBI built an open-source financial research terminal (SEC data and SQL)Jun 2026 · terminal.tesseractanalytics.ai · ▲5
I posted this a few weeks ago and the server died under the traffic. Fixed that by adding an in-mem caching layer with Redis/valkey and added CloudFront caching for static content. Also upgraded the server. Also fixed the Firefox bugs, trying again. It's a research tool for US stocks. Financials for ~10k companies pulled from SEC filings. You can chart any metric across companies, filter news by ticker, ask questions in plain English and get a chart back. There's also SQL console against the whole database, which is the part I like to use together with the AI chat (generates an SQL…

Hey HN, I'm Steve, co-founder of Factor.fyi, a new data platform for querying and visualizing financial datasets using SQL. During the pandemic, I took much more of an active role in managing my portfolio. I wanted to be able to make informed decisions about the investments I was making, and explore financial data in new ways. Market and Econ data are some of the most talked-about and widely-available datasets out there, but I was frustrated by the lack of options to answer questions I had, like, "What would have happened if I had started dollar-cost averaging VTI back in 2013?"[1] Or, "How…

I've developed a web app that organizes financial statements from SEC. There are similar products on the Internet, but all of them I found just "abstracts" raw information into something. For example, typical website has "Revenue" as a top-line metrics. In reality, that can be "Total Revenue", "Net Sales", "Operating Revenue", and so on. Those website can't cover exceptional values in same reason. I believe serious investors need raw financial statements aggregated because each number reflect the companies' financial performance. Major platforms like Bloomberg does that but too expensive for…

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…
