In plain words
This tool uses a neural network to generate artificial kanji characters stroke-by-stroke directly in a web browser. It addresses the challenge of kanji writing, which is more difficult than reading for learners of Chinese and related languages. The software demonstrates how machine learning can assist with character generation and recognition, making it potentially useful for language learners, designers, or anyone exploring how AI can recreate the complexity of handwritten characters.

As humans, we are able to communicate with others by drawing pictures, and somehow this has evolved into modern language. The ability to express our thoughts is a very powerful tool in our society. Being able to write is generally more difficult than just being able to read, and this is especially true for the Chinese language. From personal experience, being able to write Chinese is a lot more difficult than just being able to read Chinese and requires a greater understanding of the language. We now have machines that can help us accurately classify images and read handwritten characters. However, for machines to gain a deeper understanding of the content they are processing, they will…from otoro.net

QWANJI2024 · byronicalpatrick.github.io · ▲174Hey HN! I've built this bit of cuteware (software not solving a problem but just for fun) inspired from the patterns made by swipe typing on mobile devices. To me it seemed like the closest thing to an English version of Kanji and it would be cool to consistently recreate those patterns. The implementation is vanilla js to keep things simple (and from a bit of framework fatigue) I'm keen to see how people use qwanji. Any and all feedback welcome!
