Nodal.gg

Hi HN, I built Nodal.gg, a Steam game recommender with an explorable map UI instead of a plain ranked list. How it works: blends tag-based similarity with player-library overlap, then visualizes the neighborhood so you can browse clusters. No signup — just search and click around. Would love feedback on: (1) whether the map helps you find games faster than lists, and (2) what you’d want as a power-user feature/filter.

Nodal.gg launched on February 4, 2026 with 2 votes, #6,500 of 16,627 launches that month.

What it does

Nodal.gg is a game discovery platform powered by a hybrid recommendation system and a visual map of over 150,000 Steam games. You can search any game and get similar ones based on content, audience, or both. Filter results with sliders for popularity, rating, and release date. You can also log in with your Steam ID for personalized recs and stats, or explore an interactive 2D game map clustered by genre and tags.

Explore an interactive map of games and get smarter, personalized recommendations based on real player behavior.

What can I do here? Search for a Steam game you enjoyed, and we’ll surface other games that players with similar tastes often enjoy next. How are recommendations picked? Recommendations are based on patterns in how people actually play games, combined with how games are described and tagged on Steam. Can I fine-tune the results? Absolutely. Once results load, you can filter by tags, release year, price, popularity, and more to focus on what matters tofrom nodal.gg

Hey HN, I’m the solo developer of Search to Play, a social bookmarking platform for gamers — kind of like Letterboxd or Goodreads, but for video games. You can log your games, track your backlog, write reviews, and follow others. I’m building this as an alternative to spreadsheet tracking or platform-locked tools (Steam, PSN, etc). Would love your feedback! Happy to answer any questions here.

  • Hello my name is Ben Ward for the past 3 years I have been remastering the financial game Wall Street Raider created by Michael Jenkins originally on DOS in 1986. It has been a rough journey but I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I just recently redid the website and thought maybe the full story of how this project came to be would interest you all. Thank you for reading.
