24 alternatives to Nodal.gg
Hi HN, I built Nodal.gg, a Steam game recommender with an explorable map UI instead of a plain ranked list. How it works: blends tag-based similarity with player-library overlap, then visualizes the neighborhood so you can browse clusters. No signup — just search and click around. Would love feedback on: (1) whether the map helps you find games faster than lists, and (2) what you’d want as a power-user feature/filter.

Sup HN, So I got tired of bouncing between Flightradar, MarineTraffic, and Twitter every time something kicked off globally, so I wrote a dashboard to aggregate it all locally. It’s called Shadowbroker. I’ll admit I leaned way too hard into the "movie hacker" aesthetic for the UI, but the actual pipeline underneath is real. It pulls commercial/military ADS-B, the AIS WebSocket stream (about 25,000+ ships), N2YO satellite telemetry, and GDELT conflict data into a single MapLibre instance. Getting this to run without melting my browser was the hardest part. I'm running this on a laptop…

Hey HN, I’m the solo developer of Search to Play, a social bookmarking platform for gamers — kind of like Letterboxd or Goodreads, but for video games. You can log your games, track your backlog, write reviews, and follow others. I’m building this as an alternative to spreadsheet tracking or platform-locked tools (Steam, PSN, etc). Would love your feedback! Happy to answer any questions here.

Xbox Game Pass is pretty amazing. However, the official website to list games is horrible. It takes forever to load, it's hard to navigate, and weirdly difficult to just look up if a game you care about is available on Game Pass. Enter https://isitongamepass.gg - a super fast site where you can look up the current Game Pass roster. My goals going into it were speed and easily accessible information. Each card has a game title, a poster image, and the set of platforms it's available on. If you click on a card, it opens up a details view that has links to the store page for the game…

Hey all I've been working on a website called GamingHerd that has spawned from dealing with so many cheaters in Valve's Counter-Strike 2. Watch this video if you're interested into the different scales of cheats that can be used, pretty much undetectable: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ox1mBxrVulk&ab_channel=HaiX Currently, Valve does not seem to have a viable solution for dealing with cheaters nor are they transparent about their intentions (I'm sure for good reason). I can only imagine the complexities they have to deal with, and at the same time there is a potential…

Friend and me created a video game discovery website trying to answer the "what to play next" question. Unlike most other sites we wanted to support every platform, so whether you look for something on your PC, Playstation, Switch or even your phone or browser you should find something. We're still in the early stages and seek feedback (especially on the https://gamebrain.co/what-should-i-play and https://gamebrain.co/recommendations flows). Any well-meaning feedback is highly appreciated!
