Hi, HN! I built a proactive open-source AI necklace that transforms your conversations into summaries, proactive feedback, and insights I built this because I want to use it myself: many companies are advertising such technology but no one is shipping The app can work with or without wearables so you can try the experience without buying anything --- Update: wasn't expecting this post to get attention, so please let me know if I need any special tags like Show HN

Hey HN! I built OmniTools, a self-hosted web app that offers a collection of useful tools for everyday tasks. Think PDF manipulation, image, text utilities, and more—all in one place. Open-source & self-hosted Works fully in the browser (privacy-first) Built with React, deployed via Docker I made this because I wanted a free, self-hosted alternative to online tools that often require subscriptions. Would love feedback & ideas on what to add next! GitHub link: https://github.com/iib0011/omni-tools Demo link: https://omnitools.app Let me know what tools you want…

I built EveryToolkit.com — a collection of 500+ free online tools across 24+ categories, all in one clean, fast, and ad-supported site. The goal is to make small, everyday utilities accessible from one place — no popups, no clutter. You’ll find: • Developer tools (JSON, JWT, regex, base64, etc.) • Text and writing tools (word counters, formatters, case converters) • Image & PDF tools (compress, convert, merge) • Finance, health, and SEO utilities • Calculators and converters for daily use I built this to solve my own frustration of having to Google for “that one tool” every time. Would love…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
