What it does
Oncepad shares a file, password, API key orenv file through a link that works exactly once, then destroys itself. Everything is encrypted in your browser (AES-256-GCM) under a generated 7-word passphrase, the server only ever holds ciphertext, in RAM, never on disk. The link carries no key, so it's safe to paste in email, Slack or a ticket; the passphrase travels on a second channel. No account, no cookies, no analytics, nothing to install. Unopened secrets or files expire in 24 hours.

Hey HN! I made a service to share passwords easy and secure but never promoted it. It's called instapass.io I noticed that people besides my friends and clients actually started to use, so maybe it will be helpful for you too! You share one-time self-destruct message using one time links and I won't even be able to see what you wrote. How does it work? I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
