One clean, developer-focused page for every Unicode symbol
I’m building a Unicode reference where each symbol has its own dev-friendly page with all relevant encodings. Example: [https://fontgenerator.design/symbol/almost-equal-to](https://fontgenerator.design/symbol/almost-equal-to) Includes Unicode, HTML, CSS, JS, UTF-8/16 bytes, URL encoding, and usage examples. The same structure is used across thousands of symbols (math, arrows, currency, tech/UI, punctuation). Built because existing references are fragmented. Feedback welcome.

In plain words
This is a Unicode reference tool for developers, offering dedicated pages for thousands of symbols across categories like math, arrows, currency, and punctuation. Each symbol page displays multiple encoding formats including Unicode, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, UTF-8/16 bytes, and URL encoding, along with usage examples. The tool addresses fragmentation in existing references by providing consistent, developer-focused information architecture across all symbols.

Unicode cursive font generator that checks cross-platform compatibilityJan 2026 · cursivefontgenerator.info · ▲11Hi HN, Unicode “cursive” and script-style fonts are widely used on social platforms, but many of them silently break depending on where they’re pasted — some render as tofu, some get filtered, and others display inconsistently across platforms. I built a small web tool that explores this problem from a compatibility-first angle: Instead of just converting text into cursive Unicode characters, the tool: • Generates multiple cursive / script variants based on Unicode blocks • Evaluates how safe each variant is across major platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Discord, etc.) • Explains why…

Talanoa▲340Hi HN, I’m a fullstack developer, and honestly, I’ve lost count of how many side projects I’ve worked on over the years. But one idea kept coming back to me: a different kind of email client. It first came to me in 2014: “What if we could handle emails more like conversations?” Every year, I’d revisit this concept in my “Build Notes.” Ten years later, no one had built exactly what I had in mind — so I finally decided to do it myself. That’s how Talanoa was born. I wanted something focused on people, not timelines. I was tired of marking messages as unread just to remember to reply later, or…

Community, All the HN belong to you. This is an archive of hacker news that fits in your browser. When I made HN Made of Primes I realized I could probably do this offline sqlite/wasm thing with the whole GBs of archive. The whole dataset. So I tried it, and this is it. Have Hacker News on your device. Go to this repo (https://github.com/DOSAYGO-STUDIO/HackerBook): you can download it. Big Query -> ETL -> npx serve docs - that's it. 20 years of HN arguments and beauty, can be yours forever. So they'll never die. Ever. It's the unkillable static archive of HN and it's…
