Open-Source AI Parser for HTML Elements
In plain words
Open-Source AI Parser for HTML Elements is an AI tool that automatically parses and extracts data from HTML elements. Launched in December 2022, it is designed for developers who need to analyze or process HTML content programmatically. The software is open-source and available on GitHub, making it accessible to anyone who wants to integrate HTML parsing capabilities into their projects without licensing costs.

Hey HN! I'm open-sourcing a little weekend side project. It's a terminal UI that generates parsers for webpages using AI, and a library that runs these parsers while you browse (it connects to Chrome over CDP). You can parse Twitter, LinkedIn, and HN posts and they get saved to a DuckDB database, so you can query them later. Contributions welcome! I wrote a bit more about it here: https://0thernet.substack.com/p/memo-2-selectron

Hey HN community! I'm one of the lead devs of this project at fal.ai and we created an open source lightweight video editor powered by the latest media AI models. The main goal was to tackle some challenges when dealing with complex media handling and encoding on the browser. It all started as an internal experiment but as we tackled some of the issues it was clear there could be some value sharing it with the open source community. Some of the key points and tech stack details: - It uses IndexedDb, so all data is local (i.e. no auth, no cloud db) - Multiple AI models for video, image, music…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
