Open sourcing nearby.lk data models library launched on April 29, 2016 with 15 votes, #1,731 of 4,301 launches that month and more than 75% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 10 years on.

In plain words

Open sourcing nearby.lk data models library is a data modeling tool that parses JSON or YAML files according to user-defined specifications written as CoffeeScript classes. It includes an editor that validates input against schemas and renders parsed data using custom render functions. The editor supports both plain YAML input and form-based input modes, handling complex data structures with customizable property types and definitions. This library is designed for developers who need flexible, schema-driven data management.

From the sources

We did a re-write of the nearby.lk data model library, and we decided to open source the core of it. It supports JSON or YAML data files, and parses them based on a specification (like a schema). The specification is a coffeescript class with a render function. The editor checks the input against the specification and uses the render function to show the parsed input. The editor can either work in YAML mode (plain YAML input) or form input mode (user fills up a form). It can handle quite complex data models. Define properties. The type of the property is determined based on the property parameters. It defaults to Value property. oneof specifies that the property is one of the models…from vpj.github.io

We've open-sourced Klarity - a tool for analyzing uncertainty and decision-making in LLM token generation. It provides structured insights into how models choose tokens and where they show uncertainty. What Klarity does: - Real-time analysis of model uncertainty during generation - Dual analysis combining log probabilities and semantic understanding - Structured JSON output with actionable insights - Fully self-hostable with customizable analysis models The tool works by analyzing each step of text generation and returns a structured JSON: - uncertainty_points: array of {step, entropy,…

Dear HN, I am Riwaj, the cofounder of dstack.ai (https://github.com/dstackai). A few months ago, we built an online service that allows users to publish data visualizations from Python or R. The idea was to build a tool that did not require additional programming or front-end development for publishing data visualizations. Such a code can be invoked from either Jupyter notebook, RMarkdown, Python, or R scripts. Once the data is pushed, it can be accessed via a browser. Open-sourcing dstack: During our customer discovery phase, we realized that dstack.ai should integrate a lot…

Hi everyone, we’re a small team, supported by Mozilla, who are working on re-imagining a UI for training, tuning and testing local LLMs. Everything is open source. If you’ve been training your own LLMs or have always wanted to, we’d love for you to play with the tool and give feedback on what the future development experience for LLM engineering could look like.
