OpenBallot, Aggregated SF/California Voter Guides
A group of us (democracy-passionate friends) just launched OpenBallot, a platform of 40+ voter guides. The goal is to save you research time by showing you all the endorsements and explanations you care about in one place. You can use this to fill out your ballot, which is private by default. You can then share with friends or publish your views on our platform. The site is our first prototype; if you're in SF, please try it and share your feedback! We're hoping to use this to eventually scale to all over the country.
OpenBallot, Aggregated SF/California Voter Guides launched on October 29, 2024 with 38 votes, #713 of 5,185 launches that month and more than 90% of that year's launches. The site was still online in September 2026, 1 year on.
In plain words
OpenBallot is a voter guide platform that aggregates 40+ endorsement sources in one place to help voters research ballot measures and candidates efficiently. Users can view endorsements and explanations relevant to their interests, fill out their ballot privately, and optionally share their selections with friends or publicly on the platform. Currently available for San Francisco and California voters, it is designed as a prototype with plans to expand nationally.
