Openmotion
Turn product screenshots and prompts into motion videos
What it does
OpenMotion is a free macOS motion-design studio for founders, designers, and developers. Describe a scene in plain English, attach product screenshots or a brand kit, and its AI agent builds editable motion, product launch and SaaS explainer videos. Refine layers, timing, easing, colors, camera, and sound on a real canvas and timeline, then export MP4. It works with Codex and Claude Code, with no separate API keys.
OpenMotion turns a prompt into editable motion scenes, with a real canvas and timeline to refine and export the result.
OpenMotion helps you move faster without hiding the decisions that make motion feel intentional. Describe the story, style, and format. OpenMotion builds an editable scene plan instead of a locked video. Refine composition, timing, easing, colors, assets, and sound on a real canvas and timeline. Preview the full sequence and export video, transparent WebM, or HTML without rebuilding elsewhere. Move from scene planning to timing and sound without losing context. Your project stays editable from beginning to export. Real reactions from builders sharing launch videos and motion made with OpenMotion. Real results made in OpenMotion. Choose any film to play it. Product videos, launch teasers,…from openmotion.design

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
