OpenVitals
Your Google Health data, as an MCP server for your AI
OpenVitals launched on August 26, 2026 with 2 votes, #5,788 of 23,274 launches that month.
What it does
OpenVitals turns your Google Health data into ~60 MCP tools any AI can use — Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Cline. Ask "how did I sleep this week vs last?" or "am I hitting my protein target?" and get answers from your real heart, sleep, activity, glucose, nutrition and workout data. It's self-hosted: read-only Google scopes via your own free OAuth client, everything in a local SQLite file, nothing uploaded anywhere. Runs on a spare laptop or a Pi. Node 22+, MIT licensed, no subscription.
Self-hosted MCP server that turns your Google Health data into ~60 tools any AI can use. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor. Your data stays in a SQLite file on your machine. MIT licensed.
OpenVitals is a self-hosted MCP server that turns your Google Health data into ~60 tools Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor can actually reason over — heart, sleep, activity, nutrition and more. It runs on your hardware and your data never leaves it. Google will happily analyse your health data for you — inside a paid product, on their servers. As one person, you shouldn't need a monthly plan just to ask "how did I sleep this week versus last?" OpenVitals hands that job to the AI you already use. OpenVitals syncs your Google Health data into a local SQLite database and exposes it over the Model Context Protocol. Your AI client connects to that endpoint and calls the tools it needs. Open WearablesApr 2026 · openwearables.io · ▲631Hi, I'm Bart, one of the maintainers of Open Wearables. For the past few months we've been building an open-source, self-hosted backend that normalises health and fitness data from multiple wearable providers (Garmin, Whoop, Apple Health, Samsung Health and others) into a single AI-ready REST API - and thought it was worth sharing here too :) We built this out of our own experience doing custom wearable integrations for clients, and from working with paid SaaS solutions that often lack the flexibility to customise data pipelines or debug what's actually happening under the hood.…
Apple Health MCP Server2025 · github.com · ▲199Hey HN, This is an MCP server to chat with Apple Health data. I built it because I'm working on (yet another) personal trainer tool that keeps track of my workout goals, etc. and does scheduling for me. Part of that is weekly check-ins. I thought pairing those check-ins with sensor data could be useful, so here we are. It seems there isn't a way to automate access to Apple Health data, so this relies on an iOS app that can quickly/easily export key data to CSV. So the process at the moment is to export the data every Sunday before doing a check-in. More steps than I'd like, but in…

HealthBuddy2025 · healthpalai.netlify.app · ▲9Hey HN, I built HealthBuddy because I was overwhelmed by conflicting advice on how to lose weight and get healthy. Between influencers, TikToks, and Reddit threads, it felt like more noise than clarity. So I created an AI-powered site where you can ask questions like: “How do I actually lose fat sustainably?” “What’s a beginner gym plan?” “What’s a decent meal plan for bulking?” “How do I stop late-night snacking?” “How much sleep do I need if I’m training?” It's built using GPT-4 with prompts tuned specifically for health, nutrition, fitness, and sleep. Answers are structured to be clear,…

Clipto MCP▲655Hey HN, We recently built Clipto. It’s a tool that lets you search over terabytes of video, audio, and images on your computer, without relying on the cloud. Motivation: we probably all had this similar experience, we know a moment exists in a video or audio, but finding it takes hours scrubbing the timeline. You can send all the media to process in the cloud, but it’s slow, expensive and raises privacy concerns. So we decided to build our own on-device media search engine. How it works (high level): 1. We ingest video, audio, image; normalize formats via ffmpeg; run content analysis to…

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…
