Ordently – Consciously plan your day and your life
I've been using a task management tool for the past 1 year that I built. A few months ago, I spent some time to make it more generic because my partner wanted to use it as well and she's been loving it ever since. Love her, but she's a bit biased. Firstly, this is a todo app for your life. Existing tools are built around how we work as employees in a company. With a company, all the habits, goals, vision and rituals are given to you in an employee handbook. The company is our coach, and in most cases, we listen and do as the coach says. Its easier to get things done in this environment. In…
In plain words
Ordently is a task management app designed for personal life planning rather than workplace productivity. It helps users organize one-off and repeatable tasks while establishing goals, habits, and rituals outside of a corporate structure. The app centers on a daily planner and acknowledges that personal life requires more flexibility than typical productivity tools. It's for individuals who want to consciously structure their days and long-term goals independently.

In our personal lives, we gotta figure out our goals, work on our habits and setup rituals. We're also more flexible, more forgiving on when we want to do certain things and more rigid on the others. The Daily Planner is central to that ideology, working with one off and repeatable tasks . You onboard with your day first, could be as simple as calling your mum or going on a walk or do yoga. As you get more comfortable, you start to consciously build a life that you want to live by creating rituals and setting goals as you get more confident. Personally, I haven't been able to get that through Todoist or Notion.

Hi HN, I built Eigendrum, a web tool that solves the 2D wave equation for arbitrary shapes so you can hear what they sound like as drums. How it works: * Solves -∇²u = λu using finite element analysis (Kφ = λMφ) on a triangle mesh. * Validated to <0.1% error against closed-form solutions for circles (Bessel zeros) and rectangles. * Sound model factors in strike location, Rayleigh damping, and mallet width. * Includes Kac drums I & II to demonstrate identical sound spectra from different geometries. * No frameworks, build steps, or dependencies. Repo and tests:…

Hi HN, Today we’re launching GPT-4 answers on Phind.com, a developer-focused search engine that uses generative AI to browse the web and answer technical questions, complete with code examples and detailed explanations. Unlike vanilla GPT-4, Phind feeds in relevant websites and technical documentation, reducing the model’s hallucination and keeping it up-to-date. To use it, simply enable the “Expert” toggle before doing a search. GPT-4 is making a night-and-day difference in terms of answer quality. For a question like “How can I RLHF a LLaMa model”, Phind in Expert mode delivers a…
