Outlay
Track spending. Nothing else.
What it does
A minimal expense tracker with optional budgets. No account, no bank linking, no tracking, no ads. Log what you spend and see where it went.
No account, no bank to link, no tracking, no ads. Tap the plus button, log what you spent, and see where it went. That's the whole app. Most expense trackers want your bank login before you've logged a single dollar. Outlay skips that. You type in what you spent, pick a category, and it's saved, on your device, nowhere else. There's a monthly total on the main screen, and an Insights tab that breaks your spending down by category for the week, month, or year. No linked accounts to babysit. Just a log of what you spent and where it went. Want a limit on what you spend in a category? Set a budget, weekly, monthly, or yearly, and watch the progress bar as you go. It's entirely optional. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
