Panda Patrol: Open-Source Data Pipeline Monitoring in < 5 Lines of Code
I’ve found that I don’t have any context about the data in my pipelines only know if the pipeline is successful or not. So I built panda-patrol which allows you to monitor each node in your DAG, use AI to generate data tests for your data, store data profiles, and more. All with this comes with dashboards and alerts. You can easily drop it into your Python-based data pipeline (i.e. Airflow, Dagster, Prefect, etc.) and just run your pipelines are you normally would — but with monitoring and more context. Hope its valuable to some people

Every data pipeline job I had to tackle required quite a few components to set up: - One tool to ingest data - Another one to transform it - If you wanted to run Python, set up an orchestrator - If you need to check the data, a data quality tool Let alone this being hard to set up and taking time, it is also pretty high-maintenance. I had to do a lot of infra work, and while this being billable hours for me I didn’t enjoy the work at all. For some parts of it, there were nice solutions like dbt, but in the end for an end-to-end workflow, it didn’t work. That’s why I decided to build an…
- TYTurn your Pandas dataframe into a Tableau-style UI for visual analysis2023 · github.com · ▲712
Hey, guys. I've just made a plugin which turns your pandas dataframe into a tableau-style component. It allows you to explore the dataframe with easy drag-and-drop UI. You can use PyGWalker in Jupyter, Google Colab, or even Kaggle Notebook to easily explore your data and generate interactive visualizations. PyGWalker (pronounced like "Pig Walker", just for fun) is named as an abbreviation of "Python binding of Graphic Walker". Here are some links to check it out: The Github Repo: https://github.com/Kanaries/pygwalker Use PyGWalker in Kaggle:…

- RRRocky – Rust SQL engine with branches, replay, column lineageApr 2026 · github.com · ▲122
Hi HN, I'm Hugo. I've been building Rocky over the past month, shipping fast in the open. The binary is on GitHub Releases, `dagster-rocky` on PyPI, and the VS Code extension on the Marketplace. I held off on a broader announcement until the trust-system surface was coherent enough to talk about as one thing. The governance waveplan — column classification, per-env masking, 8-field audit trail on every run, `rocky compliance` rollup, role-graph reconciliation, retention policies — landed end-to-end last week in engine-v1.16.0 and rounded out in v1.17.4 (tagged 2026-04-26). That's the…

I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

Hey HN, Henry from Cactus here! We previously released Cactus Needle, a 14MB agentic LLM for tool call, device use, and structured extraction for phones, wearables, smart homes, small robots and microcontrollers. We got really great feedback here, and have now incorporated the suggestions to release Needle 2. The whole model is a single 14MB binary that runs a full session in 28MB of RAM; 45m parameters at 2bit compression. Needle hits 500 tokens/sec decode speed on a Raspberry Pi 5, sits between 400-1,500 tokens/sec on VR devices like Meta Quest 3S and Apple Vision Pro, and ranges…
