What it does
PantheonGPU is a GPU testing and diagnostics tool for NVIDIA CUDA and AMD ROCm GPUs. It runs targeted tests for compute, memory, PCIe, thermals, stability, and AI inference to help find underperforming, unstable, or misconfigured GPUs. It is useful for AI developers, home lab users, system builders, and teams running GPU infrastructure.

PantheonGPU actively tests compute, memory, interconnect, thermals, stability, and AI workloads to identify underperforming, unstable, or misconfigured GPUs across NVIDIA CUDA and AMD ROCm systems. It is open source, so you can read exactly what a workload does before running it on your hardware. Our company Vertex.AI has been working on this for a while but this is the first public release. We're starting with using PlaidML to bring OpenCL support to Keras and more frameworks, platforms, etc are coming. Yes, this means you can use use your AMD GPU for deep learning dev. I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.

I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy.
