Park Bid

Bid to Park your vehicles on the lot. The higher, the better

What it does

A top-down parking lot with 100 bays. Every bay opens at $1. Park a vehicle, link it to your site, and hold the spot until someone outbids you: then you get towed to the back and emailed about it. A leaderboard crowns the best car in town.

A paid directory drawn as a car park — the Million Dollar Homepage, with towing. Park a vehicle in a bay for $1, link it to your product, and hold the spot until somebody pays more. No accounts, no ads, no algorithm.

Pick a ride, pick a spot, pay to park. Every bay opens at $1 — except the VIP spot at the doors, which starts at $5 . Beyond that, nobody decides which bay is the good one except the people bidding for it. Get outbid and you get towed to the back — or out altogether, if the lot is full. Click anything parked to visit its site. Pick any empty spot to park, or outbid whoever's already in one. You keep your spot until someone pays more — then you're towed to the back of the lot rather than removed. The lot has 100 bays. Every one of them opens at $1 — except the VIP bay by the doors, which opens at $5 . Nothing else about a bay is priced by us. Which one is the good one is decided entirely by…from parkbid.lol

Hello HN! I found that picking out plausible but diverse skin tones for my digital art and game development projects was kind of difficult, and I got curious about if there was a way to define a color space that made it easy. I've built a color picker and procedural generation algorithm based on the space as well as a bunch of other fun js features and demos throughout the page that use the equations. If you find it interesting, I have lots of explanations of how I built it and what properties the space has. The methodology might be a bit shaky, but hopefully the result is as helpful for…

  • I trained a 125M-parameter transformer to autocomplete piano performances in real time (~108 notes/sec on an iPhone 15). The idea is basically GitHub Copilot or Tabnine, except instead of prompting it with code, you prompt it by playing a few notes on a MIDI piano. The model then continues what you played, entirely on-device. The app is free if anyone wants to try it. Happy to answer questions about the model, training, Core ML, or the many things that didn't work.
